ALAMOSA LEADERS BACK CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH DENVER AIR CONNECTION

April 8th, 2024 - Denver, CO — The Alamosa County Airport Advisory Board and the Alamosa County Commissioners voted unanimously on their recommendation to the Department of Transportation (DOT) to retain Denver Air Connection (DAC) as the Essential Air Service (EAS) provider at San Luis Valley Regional Airport.

This unified endorsement reflects not only DAC’s operational performance but also a continued commitment to the San Luis Valley community. The recommendation follows a highly competitive bidding process that included a strong proposal from SkyWest Airlines, operating under the United Airlines brand.

Ultimately, DAC stood out with its proven track record, commitment to passenger experience, and ability to quickly adapt to local needs. Denver Air Connection expresses gratitude for the continued trust placed in it by local stakeholders and reaffirms its commitment to meet the needs of all regional fliers.

Passengers flying from the San Luis Valley will benefit from seamless booking and baggage transfers thanks to established interline partnerships with United, American, and Delta Airlines.

Denver Air Connection and Gogebic–Iron County Airport are pleased to announce a minor schedule adjustment designed to improve connectivity for travelers in the region. The updated schedule will enhance reliability and create better interline travel opportunities for passengers.
Beginning May 1, the revised timing is intended to better align with flights in and out of hubs, particularly for travelers connecting through Chicago. With these adjustments, passengers will see expanded connection options with Denver Air Connection’s interline partners and options for same-day travel to a wider range of destinations.
Denver Air Connection remains committed to providing dependable air service while strengthening access to the national air transportation network for communities served by Gogebic–Iron County Airport.
