Neighbor Appreciation Day 2026

Calling all neighbors of the Essex Steam Train! Celebrate America's 250th birthday with us on Neighbor Appreciation Day - Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Residents of the five towns along the Valley Railroad line — Essex, Deep River, Chester, Haddam, and Old Saybrook — are invited to enjoy complimentary coach seating aboard the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat.

Hop aboard and experience the beauty of the magnificent Connecticut River Valley — our own backyard! 🦅

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be reserved by emailing [email protected].

🚂Preferred departure time (11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, or 2:00 PM)

Ride for a Cause This Summer 🚂⛴️❤️🐶🐱

Every Thursday this summer, we're giving back! For every Train & Boat ticket sold, $1 will be donated to a featured local rescue organization/shelter, helping support the incredible work they do for animals in need.

Enjoy a memorable journey through the beautiful CT River Valley while making a difference with every ticket purchased. Groups will be on-site to greet guests and answer questions. Together, we can help local rescue groups & shelters continue their life saving missions—one ride at a time.
