Skilled Craftsman Wanted – Classic Wooden Boat Restoration (Minnesota)
A rare opportunity to work hands-on in the restoration of a 1936, 35-foot Chris-Craft Double
Cabin Deluxe Cruiser, Gloria Mae. We’re seeking a skilled craftsman — ideally with experience in
woodworking, carpentry, or boatbuilding — to assist in the next stages of a traditional wooden
boat restoration.
About the Project: Gloria Mae is a 1936 Chris-Craft Double Cabin Cruiser currently under full
restoration in a professional indoor shop in Minnesota. The frames are complete, and the next
stages include:
* Chine replacement
*Stem and transom repair
* Hull planking and fairing
*Deck and cabin restoration
And more…
Ideal Skills: General woodworking, joinery, or marine carpentry experience. Familiarity with
traditional hand and power tools. Understanding of classic boat construction and restoration
methods Attention to detail, patience, and pride in craftsmanship
Project Details: Heated indoor shop with tools and materials on site Paid position — hourly or
contract (negotiable based on experience) Flexible schedule Local candidates preferred, but
