Made famous by the David Lynch TV series, Snoqualmie, WA, aka Twin Peaks, has a wonderful Main Street with shops and restaurants, but of course is dominated by Salish Lodge, which portrayed The Great Northern Hotel in the series, perched at the edge of Snoqualmie Falls. We always stop for the view of the amazing waterfall and sometimes lunch in between Seattle and the Bavarian town of Leavenworth further east.

It was an absolutely stunning evening doing a private, behind-the-scenes tour for the holidays at the amazing . Covering a square block with multiple courtyards and a several chapels, during the holidays the hotel is decorated with 10 million lights. It’s a great addition to a holiday tour to So Cal and, particularly, the Tournament of Roses Parade. Check it out with us next year!

So sorry to hear of the passing of America’s oldest National Park Service ranger, Betty Teid Soskin at 104 years young. Really. She retired just four years ago and never lost a step. We were fortunate to have several group tours engage with Ranger Betty at Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond, near San Francisco.

Betty devoted her life to telling stories that might otherwise have gone untold, highlighting the contributions of marginalized communities and ensuring that forgotten voices were brought to the forefront of American history. We’ll miss you Betty!
