🚨Falcon State Park is now within an infested zone for New World Screwworm. The New World Screwworm fly lays eggs in living warm-blooded animals, and their larvae dig or “screw” their bodies into their host’s flesh, causing wounds that can lead to death. If you bring your pets to the park, please check them before you leave and a few days after your visit. If you see animals with wounds or maggots, do not move them and notify park staff of their location. For more information, visit: TPWD.texas.gov/huntwild/wild/disease/screwworm

Some of y’all might have already heard about this or caught a glimpse 👀, but it’s officially here: boat ramps AND a floating dock!! 🚤 This week, two 50-foot boat ramps were installed on the shore, and we moved the floating dock between them to help boaters with launching. We’re excited to improve access while lake levels fluctuate during drought conditions. We’ll add some final touches to the area soon, but in the meantime, please avoid parking, fishing, or swimming around the ramps to keep the area free of congestion.

What a wonderful morning for a bird and nature walk! We had the chance to spot numerous animals and even caught a glimpse of fish near the shore 🐟. Join us again at the end of April for another walk and an even better view of our incredible wildlife.
