EAA Chapter 72

EAA Chapter 72's Learn to Fly day was a great success yesterday! After having to cancel the event earlier this year due to poor weather, we were able to get several adults up in the air to start exploring their interest in aviation.

Here's the track log of one of our pilot's over the course of 4 Eagle Flights. Thanks everyone for coming out to our breakfast and especially to our volunteer pilots!

May 15- May 20 is Learn to Fly Week! There's a whole week of webinars for those interested in learning to fly culminating with our Learn to Fly Day and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday May 20.

Most of the rest of the year EAA 72 is focused on getting youth up and flying. Youth are welcome to watch the webinars throughout the week and come to the pancake breakfast on Saturday May 20, however, the Learn to Fly Day flights are for those age 18 and up only. It's time for the adults to come have some fun!

Join us on May 15 - 20, for the inaugural EAA Learn to Fly Week! Expert flight instructors and representatives from aviation organizations will present free and interactive webinars to help jumpstart your flight training journey.

Retired United Airlines Captain Ken Hendrickson now spends his time building airplanes instead of flying them.

The wheel pants exist and are almost done, but we couldn't wait any longer to get some pictures.

EAA 72 is out at the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow with Reid Bishop's Rans S-19 promoting the raffle at www.eaa72raffle.org. Reid's plane is a standin for our raffle plane which is in the paint shop.
We're in the static display area on the north end of the ramp.

Also, HUGE News that will warrant its own post. As of yesterday we've surpassed 700 tickets sold! That means the plane WILL be awarded as the raffle prize!

Here are some pictures of the raffle RANS S-19 wings coming together. Get your tickets at www.eaa72raffle.org Please tell your friends! We've got about 70 tickets to go until the airplane is "unlocked" as the prize. We've got to sell at least 700 tickets for the plane to be raffled versus a cash prize. We're pretty sure we'll get there by December and we hope the sales really start rolling in when the plane comes out of paint by the end of September! It would be a shame to only sell 700 tickets of the 2500 available.
