You don’t have to travel far from the Huntington Mall in Barboursville WV to experience some of West Virginia’s most incredible scenery. We skipped the interstate and took the scenic route through downtown Charleston, and Midland trail, where winding roads, river views, and charming small nooks become part of the adventure.
Before you know it, you’ll be arriving at the impressive Kanawha Falls and the breathtaking Cathedral Falls, two iconic Appalachian destinations that are perfect for a day trip.
Living in and visiting our Tri-state area means you’re surrounded by endless opportunities for scenic drives, waterfalls, hiking, local dining, and hidden Appalachian treasures. Sometimes the best adventures aren’t across the country, they’re just down the road even on the rainy days! 🌧️

I was raised in West Virginia, where I had the privilege of learning that some of life’s greatest luxuries are found in peaceful drives, a home cooked meal, front porch conversations, cozy homes, handcrafted treasures, and the beauty of an outdoor adventure.
Here you’ll find travel and tourism inspiration, scenic adventures, natural luxury, home décor, DIY projects, elevated thrift finds, and even a little freshwater fishing.
It’s my celebration of all the things that accentuate Appalachian living. Whether we’re visiting a tucked away hometown, a fascinating city, styling a home with curated finds, playing in the creek, or leaf peeping🍂
