News on a sister publication

From our new 296-page book, due out October 1: "Chatham is the first town south of Springfield, at milepost 194.5. A pair of classic but seasoned GM&O E7s lead train #1, the southbound Limited, just outside of Chatham on November 26, 1967. This was the GM&O’s premier train between Chicago and St Louis, making the trip in just over 5.5 hours. It did not stop in Chatham, having just departed Springfield. (Clyde Anderson) (Watermark does not appear in the book)

Wayback Wednesday: Frisco 4-8-2 #1503 is heading eastbound out of Pacific, MO in 1938 with train #8, having just pulled away from the depot. She is about to enter the tangent “racetrack” with the Missouri Pacific to Eureka. (C.E. Prussia)
