From our new 296-page book, due out October 1: "Chatham is the first town south of Springfield, at milepost 194.5. A pair of classic but seasoned GM&O E7s lead train #1, the southbound Limited, just outside of Chatham on November 26, 1967. This was the GM&O’s premier train between Chicago and St Louis, making the trip in just over 5.5 hours. It did not stop in Chatham, having just departed Springfield.
