A happy guy drives away (a dear friend and extended family member) with his repowered 1978 Carver Santa Cruz 2566.
Hand Laid fiberglass design with comfortable accomodations for 4 complete with Galley, lower helm and upper fly bridge helm, 120VAC system, 12V/120V refrigerator, convertible dinette, alcohol and electric two burner stove.
We built a mild marine build 350 CI MerCruiser engine with a Comp Cam X-Treme Marine camshaft houses inside a freshened up Chevy 350 Vortec Marine block. Heads gasket matched to a Edelbrock aluminum dual plane intake, 4 barrel Edelbrock 650 CFM carburetor, and a Thunderbolt V ignition system.
Combined with MerCruiser Alpha I outdrive puts this family Cruiser at a top speed of approximately 28 knots.
An affordable boat made our friend Rick Wood ready for Lake Champlain extremely eager to get out on the water and we look forward to hearing from him when he launches her under her new name. For now, our Platt Boat Works family says See you Later to "Knot Interested".
