Final checks before launch of 1963 Hatteras 34 ft Double Cabin "Thyme Capsule"

Twin 440 cid Chrysler Marine engines with 1.91:1 reverse gear ratio Warner Velvet Drive transmissions.

Propellers cleaned, lock pins in place, set in water, seacocks opened, engines started an checked for temperatures and oil pressure, reverse gear checks.

Then placed in her slip ready for Christening and Maiden voyage as "Thyme Capsule"

Sometimes we get creative here at Platt Boat Works. Here we are readying a set of 350 GM smallblock V8s to go to Lanoka Harbor for refit in a 32 ft Sea Ray cabin cruiser Filomena.

Our next Refit! Meet Filomena, a 1986 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge 300.

When we finish her gel coat will be bright and she will have beautiful running MerCruiser Marine 350cid engines, both with four barrel carburetor and CompCam Extreme Marine camshafts.

All mated to Velvet Drive "V" drives. 220 gallons of fuel split between port and starboard tanks.

She boats Raytheon Radar, Garmin GPS, Hummingbird Fish Finder, and 20 ft Taco Outriggers.

Set up will be perfect for a family who enjoys both fun cruises as well as fishing.

A happy guy drives away (a dear friend and extended family member) with his repowered 1978 Carver Santa Cruz 2566.

Hand Laid fiberglass design with comfortable accomodations for 4 complete with Galley, lower helm and upper fly bridge helm, 120VAC system, 12V/120V refrigerator, convertible dinette, alcohol and electric two burner stove.

We built a mild marine build 350 CI MerCruiser engine with a Comp Cam X-Treme Marine camshaft houses inside a freshened up Chevy 350 Vortec Marine block. Heads gasket matched to a Edelbrock aluminum dual plane intake, 4 barrel Edelbrock 650 CFM carburetor, and a Thunderbolt V ignition system.

Combined with MerCruiser Alpha I outdrive puts this family Cruiser at a top speed of approximately 28 knots.

An affordable boat made our friend Rick Wood ready for Lake Champlain extremely eager to get out on the water and we look forward to hearing from him when he launches her under her new name. For now, our Platt Boat Works family says See you Later to "Knot Interested".
