The final Kent State indoor flying session is this Saturday, March 28 from 2pm-9pm. That’s a 7 hour session for just $20/pilot. There will be a bunch of great raffle items available. Check their page for further details.
To help celebrate the last indoor event of the season we've brought back your favorite flight guard from last year! He will be keeping track of the flight and game schedule you see below. Here are a few things to remember for the extended event . . .
- Charge ALL of your batteries. If you want to charge on site please bring portable power banks (like Ecoflow, Jackery, etc.) if you have them because power outlets are at a premium.
- It will be a long day of great flying but remember there will be no food services at the event . . . if you do bring food all we ask is that you keep it contained to your area and please clean up after yourself. Don't walk around with food or drinks in your hand and especially on the turf so we don't have accidental spillage.
- Like last year we have created a flight schedule so everyone gets a chance to enjoy all of their airplanes. Please be considerate of each other, communicate all take-offs and landings, and fly in the pattern. Accidents will happen but we'd like to keep them to a minimum.
- This year we are adding a couple games to the mix. First is Limbo, fly under the ever-lowering streamer until one pilot is left. Second is the Balloon Prize Pop, two tripods with balloons on top will be placed on the field. "Prizes (TBD)" to those who pop them first. Also, the bowling pins will be available for anyone to try it out (no officially scored game). We'll have the final details for all the games on Saturday.
- TWO RAFFLES!! We will be splitting up the raffles into two for those that can't stay until the end. We'll have all the details for you on Saturday.
- You may notice there is no FULL CONTACT COMBAT on the schedule this year. We've decided that we'd rather not fill the arena up with burning turf smoke from busted batteries (we've been very lucky with them in the past). We will keep the chaos limited to two Wingola (and other wings) Tornados of Doom.
