🚌 More Frequent Service & Better Connections Beginning August 31

Beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, MART is introducing service improvements across Gardner, Athol–Orange, and regional connections to Fitchburg and Worcester.

What’s Changing:
🔹 More Frequent Service — Increased frequency across affected routes, giving riders more travel options throughout the day.
🔹 Gardner G1 & G2 — Better coordinated schedules for easier transfers at City Hall and Price Chopper.
🔹 Gardner G3 — Extended service to MWCC and North Gardner, with service continuing through City Hall to Walmart/South Gardner.
🔹 Athol–Orange — Later service added, providing more travel options.
🔹 Gardner–Athol — Improved connections with the Gardner–Fitchburg route at City Hall.
🔹 Gardner–Fitchburg — More frequent and reliable service, with direct service to Fitchburg ITC.
🔹 Wachusett Commuter Shuttle — The shuttle will be discontinued and replaced by all-day service on the Gardner–Fitchburg route, providing connections throughout the day.
🔹 Fitchburg–Leominster–Worcester — Service will now end at Worcester Union Station, where riders can connect with local Worcester transit services.

📅 These changes take effect Monday, August 31, 2026.

Independence Day - Service Reminder

This year, Independence Day falls on Saturday, July 4. In observance of the holiday, MART services will be closed on both Friday, July 3 (observed holiday), and Saturday, July 4 (Independence Day).

Regular service will resume on the next scheduled service day.

🚍 Service Update – Route 3

Beginning this Monday, June 29, 2026, MART Route 3 will begin its first morning loop at 5:30 AM, providing riders with an earlier travel option to better meet commuting needs.

This schedule enhancement adds an additional morning loop, giving riders increased flexibility and improved access to transit at the start of the day.

🚧 Service Update – Routes 2 & 9

Beginning Monday, June 22, MART Routes 2 and 9 will operate with adjusted schedules due to ongoing construction affecting travel times.

To improve service reliability and better serve riders, afternoon trip times on both routes will increase by approximately 5 minutes. These adjustments are designed to better reflect current roadway conditions and help maintain more consistent service throughout the day.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as construction continues in the area.

🚌 One Week Since Our Gardner Public Meeting

Last week, MART welcomed community members, riders, municipal officials, and stakeholders to Gardner for a public meeting focused on proposed improvements to transit services across the region.

We appreciate everyone who attended, asked questions, and shared feedback. Public input plays an important role as we continue evaluating opportunities to improve transit access and service for the communities we serve.
