Someone notified me that a 35mm slide of Dalton Airport from 1966 was for sale on EBay. I had to buy it! I’m going to find a way to have it printed so we can frame it for our meeting room. Does anyone have any information on this picture? Was it a Dawn Patrol at the old quonset hut?

Superfortress Crashes on Michigan Farm
A giant B-29 Superfortress crashed near Flushing, Michigan, One crew member was killed, seven others parachuted to safety. The plane hit the Creston E. Sammons Farm 2 miles south of Flushing in a field about 400 yards from Beecher Rd. It broke in two after plowing through snow 14 inches deep, but did not burn. An Air Force spokesman said engine trouble forced the plane down. The bomber was on a routine navigational training flight from Minneapolis to its home base in Griffith Field, New York.

Good Morning!!!!

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend for beautifying our beloved airport. Saturday morning is our airport cleanup day starting at 9am. I look forward to seeing many of you out there. This not only gets us a head start on our Dawn Patrol but makes our entire airport shine. We are very proud of our airport and want to show off that pride to the entire community. We can always use extra w**d eaters for those that can bring them or help out with any other number of tasks. The more help we get the faster it gets done and the better the shine we put on the amazing Dalton Airport. We usually finish within a couple hours so please come out, donate a little time, and let's all knock it out of the park together!!!!

See you Saturday at 9am,
Jake Carmer
