* US 60 SCHEDULED CLOSURE - SUPERIOR AREA *

US 60 will be closed between Superior and Miami (mileposts 227-243) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:

◆ Wednesday, July 29
◆ Thursday, July 30

This is for the bridge replacement project.

Detours:
Eastbound: Take southbound State Route 177 through Winkelman to northbound SR 77.
Westbound: Use southbound SR 77 through Winkelman to northbound SR 177.

**NOTE** Due to the roughly 75-mile length of this detour, drivers may want to consider planning travel before 9 a.m. and after 2 p.m. The detour is estimated to add an additional hour for trips between Superior and Miami.

The WMAT Division of Transportation is notifying residents that Cooley Road, near the cell tower, is closed to all traffic effective immediately due to severe storm damage.

Recent heavy weather has damaged a twenty-foot section of the culvert pipe beneath the roadway. This has left the road structurally unsound and unsafe for travel.

For the safety of our community, this section of Cooley Road has been officially closed in coordination with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Roads Department.

We strongly urge all residents and motorists to:

• Obey all posted closure notices and warning signage
• Avoid the affected area entirely, including foot traffic
• Find an alternate route until repairs are complete.

Your safety, and the safety of your family and neighbors, is our top priority.

The Division of Transportation, in coordination with the BIA Fort Apache Agency Roads Department, are monitoring the site and will update the community as repair work progresses.
