Avikus enters supply partnership with Aquila
Avikus NeuBoat Dock II to be offered as optional upgrade on select Coupe and Yacht models. Seoul, Korea-based technology firm Avikus has entered into a new OEM supply agreement with Aquila Catamarans, which will see the company offer the Avikus NeuBoat Dock II platform as a factory-installed option on the Aquila 46, 50 and 54 Yachts, as well as the 42 and 46 Coupe.
The system, which Aquila notes is installed on new-build vessels at the shipyard and now available globally, uses six cameras to deliver a 360-degree surround view of the vessel with real-time distance measurement, object detection and docking assist guidance. Aquila also confirmed further plans to offer Avikus’s NeuBoat Navi situational awareness capability for collision avoidance when underway, and NeuBoat Control with added autopilot and autodocking functionality as options on select models in the near future.
“The Avikus system is a great option that utilises the latest technology to help make docking very simple,” says Aquila Catamarans brand manager, Alain Raas. “Aquila is proud to offer Avikus as an option on our full line of yachts and on select Coupe models.”
