Officials with the Town of Buena Vista in Colorado have approved creating a drone flying park on town property.

The park will be in the southeast quadrant of town property that is host to the Collegiate Peaks Stampede Rodeo grounds. It will consist of four “zones” where drone pilots can learn to fly or hone their flying skills.

Development of the park will begin immediately, with the basic flying and qualification courses on schedule to be completed the fall of 2020. The remaining zones should be ready for use in the summer of 2021.

"OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – It was a tense situation for some passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight following an issue with the plane.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday, Southwest Airlines Flight 1439, from Chicago, called Will Rogers World Airport to report an issue with the plane’s flap.

As a result, the pilot would have to land the plane at a higher rate of speed than normal.

Air traffic controllers directed the pilot to land on a cleared runway at the airport, and an emergency was declared for the flight.

Emergency vehicles were stationed at the end of the runway in case the landing did not go as planned.

KFOR’s Chopper 4 was over the scene as the pilot made a perfect landing." 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

✈︎J̺͆u̺͆s̺͆t̺͆ P̺͆l̺͆a̺͆n̺͆e̺͆ F̺͆u̺͆n̺͆: A private jet firm just took delivery of the first ever Bombardier Global 5500, a $46 million jet that can fly nearly 7,000 miles.

Switzerland's Luxaviation Europe, formerly ExecuJet, was the first to take delivery of Bombardier's newest private jet, the Global 5500, just last month. The Canadian manufacturer introduced new Rolls-Royce engines with the Global 5500 and also gave it the newest cabin interior products and a highly-advanced cockpit. So while it may not be the largest, it's still a massive upgrade from its predecessor.

The Mexican government has seized 599 aircraft - 586 planes ✈️ and 13 helicopters 🚁 - from the Sinaloa Cartel between 2006-2015.

The Sinaloa Cartel’s fleet is comparable to some major international airlines, although most of the cartel’s aircraft are smaller, befitting their role of traveling to and from remote, crude landing strips.

Soaring through the glass ceilings of both her gender and race, Lt. j.g. Madeline Swegle has made history as the US Navy's first Black female tactical aircraft pilot.

Her completion of the tactical air training program paves the way for her to fly fighter jets such as the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, the F-35C Joint Strike Fighter or the EA-18G Growler, according to the Navy Times.

Are you feeling that love is in the air? Believe it or not, you can actually get married on a plane. The rules are simple.

To keep things legal, have your nuptials either on a commercial airline that is flying either within one country or a flight going within one U.S. state. Let the airline know in advance.

On one recent Delta flight, a happy couple from Virginia was allowed to literally walk down the aisle. On a Southwest flight, the crew serenaded the newlyweds, and the pilot married them using the PA system. He never left the cockpit.

By the way, there’s another reason to get married over just one state. That way, if you ever get divorced, you’ll know ahead of time what laws apply.

For much of his life, Leonardo was fascinated by the phenomenon of flight, producing many studies of the flight of birds, including his c. 1505 Codex on the Flight of Birds, as well as plans for several flying machines, including a helicopter and a light hang glider. Most were impractical, like his aerial screw helicopter design that could not provide lift. However, the hang glider has been successfully constructed and demonstrated.
