OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1991, the Alliance Air Show was known as the Fort Worth International Air Show and was produced by the Aviation Heritage Association, a nonprofit organization. The Aviation Heritage Association was under contract with the City of Fort Worth to conduct the air show for the local North Texas Community. The mission of the Heritage Association was to dedicate funds to building

the Aviation Heritage Museum and Educational Training Center. The Fort Worth International Air Show, held at Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW), entertained thousands of people and was supported by numerous volunteers. During this time, staff members at Alliance Air Management, dba Alliance Air Services supported this event by coordinating static aircraft and ramp logistics. In December of 2005, the Aviation Heritage Association elected to get out of the air show business. The City of Fort Worth approached Alliance Air Services, the entity that manages the Fort Worth Alliance Airport under a multi-year contract with the City of Fort Worth, to continue the production of the air show for the North Texas community. In 2006, Alliance Air Services created a nonprofit organization called Alliance Air Productions, a Hillwood entity, to produce the Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. Since the opening of Fort Worth Alliance Airport in December 1989, aircraft operations into AFW continue to flourish, and the surrounding airfield customer, including Amazon and FedEx, continue to expand their daily operations. cargo airport with a 45% increase in aircraft landed weight from 2020 to 2021. This increased cargo operations, including corporate, government and private activity, have made it challenging to continue an air show that includes all-day aerial demonstrations. In efforts to evolve with the change in growth and activity at Fort Worth Alliance Airport, Alliance Air Productions has chosen to rebrand the event to include a new name, new entertainment schedule and modified event features. In 2022, Alliance Air Productions introduced the AllianceTexas Aviation Expo.

Our Story

The Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show is one of the largest, longest-running and most successful civilian air shows in the nation.

WHO WE ARE

The annual not-for-profit Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show is one of the largest and most successful air shows in the nation. This all-encompassing community event attracts more than 120,000 attendees annually; showcases our nation’s armed forces and Dallas-Fort Worth’s important aerospace and aviation industries; promotes education and workforce development programs across the region; and provides the very best in patriotic family entertainment.

Alliance Air Productions, a 501(c)(3) organization and producer of the air show, is a subsidiary of Hillwood, the developer of the 26,000-acre AllianceTexas project that is home to Fort Worth Alliance Airport.

OUR MISSION

The Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show is dedicated to creating a vibrant air show that gives back to the community and supports, sustains and grows our region’s aviation legacy by honoring our military and veterans, raising funds for local nonproﬁt organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and engaging and inspiring the future generation to explore a career in aviation.

Since 2006, more than $700,000 has been distributed to more than 60 nonproﬁt organizations, including over $219,000 to beneﬁciaries such as USO of Dallas/Fort Worth, Hope for the Brave and Carry The Load. In 2017, the air show also sponsored the MWR Department events for 2018 at NAS Fort Worth.

OUR THEME

The air show’s theme, “A Tradition for the Future,” showcases the area’s rich aviation heritage, its deep roots in the aerospace and aviation industry and the industry’s future in North Texas. To convey this deep connection to the community, the air show includes North Texas built aircraft both ﬂ ying and on display.

To sustain and grow our region’s aviation legacy, we have built partnerships with Northwest ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Birdville ISD and Keller ISD, enabling area school districts to take advantage of the many educational and career opportunities surrounding the air show. We also have an interactive Discovery Zone (sponsored by Lockheed this year), providing hands-on activities designed to engage our youth and encourage them to learn more about STEM. Finally, the air show provides the rare opportunity for area families to meet and interact directly with our nation’s armed forces, as well as industry representatives from our robust aviation and aeronautics community.
