Due to high demand and $17 million in private hangar investments, Spinks was recently named Most Improved Airport by TxDOT Aviation. Good afternoon,

Please be advised that Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) will be in effect for Presidential/Vice Presidential operations, including a TFR that affects Spinks Airport (FWS) beginning October 1st from 1400 - 1500L and 1945-2130L.

For the safety and compliance of all airport users, please review the following operational restrictions and requirements:
• No student training flights will be permitted while the applicable TFR is in effect.
• No pattern work will be permitted.
• No student solo flights — students may not operate without an instructor.
• All VFR and IFR aircraft must be operating on an assigned/discreet transponder code and must be in communication with ATC ("squawking and talking"). IFR and VFR flight plans must be filed.
• Multiple TFRs may be in effect for POTUS/VPOTUS operations. Please carefully note the applicable dates and times before conducting any flight operations.
• TFR A (6/5906) 1400-1500L and TFR A (6/5912) 1945 - 2130L are the TFR's that affects FWS.

BIG IMPROVEMENTS ARE COMING TO FORT WORTH SPINKS AIRPORT!

Spinks Airport is moving forward with a major airfield infrastructure project — the rehabilitation of Runway 18R/36L and reconstruction of Taxiways Alpha and Charlie.

The project will include:

- Rehabilitation of Spinks’ primary Runway 18R/36L through an asphalt mill and overlay
- Reconstruction of Taxiways Alpha and Charlie (West side)
- Installation of new drainage infrastructure
- Improvements designed to extend the life of critical airfield pavement and support safe, reliable airport operations for years to come

This project represents another significant investment in the future of Fort Worth Spinks Airport and the aviation community we serve.

The project is currently out for bid, with electronic bids due October 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
