One of the best vistas in the Berkshires! (And you can get there and back in 1.5 hours.)

Check it out at TieDyedGuide.com > Guided Hikes > Cheshire Cobble

(From a short solo hike I did a few weeks ago… the view from the “cobble” always delivers! -TDG)

Incredible climb up Mt Lincoln and Mt Lafayette along Franconia Ridge in NH on 7/17. 8.6 mile loop that we banged out in just over 5 hours with 3,800ft of gain. We did not realize how intense those winds can be up there above the treeline, so it was a bit chilly with just my tie-dye tee, but we moved quickly and, honestly, it was super invigorating! I left in the sound from the clips so you can get an idea of the power of those winds.

Another thing: this was one of the most crowded hikes I have ever been on. I didn’t mind it too much, but wild to see so many people trekking along that high ridge. We got there early to make sure we got a parking spot. Overall an amazing day, and an amazing hike! Can’t wait to get back to the Whites...

Hope everyone is getting outside!

America’s Switzerland…? Why not! This view from the “Wigwam” coming into North Adams, MA is pretty spectacular, gets me every time. (And they have really good coffee!) It’s also right at the start of a great trail, Hoosac Range Trail, which leads to another spectacular view after about 1.5 hours. One of my faves…

Hope everyone is getting outside!

🥵 Hot temps shouldn’t keep you inside! Hiking is actually a great activity to beat the heat. Just keep in mind a few simple hot weather hiking tips:
🧢 Wear a hat
🌲 Choose a shady trail
⛰️ Pick a flatter (and shorter) route
💧 Bring more water than you usually need

Get outside in the summer sun (and shade!), stay safe, and enjoy the trails wherever you are!

Hi I’m Jeff, founder and lead hiking guide at Tie-Dyed Guide | Berkshire Hiking Adventures. 🌐 www.TieDyedGuide.com

For the past 7 years, I’ve been guiding hikers through the beautiful forests and hills of The Berkshires — with hundreds of happy hikers along the way!

I love helping visitors and locals get OUTSIDE IN NATURE without the stress of figuring out the right spot and staying on route. With a local guide, you get much more out of hiking in this region, especially places like Mount Greylock (highest mountain in MA) and the Appalachian Trail, as well as into Southern Vermont

Guided hikes mean:
🍃 Better routes for your ability and goals
🌳 Safer, more confident time on trail, just soaking it all in.
⛰️ Local insight you won’t get from maps alone
🍀 NO STRESS: we pick the route, tell you what you need, and lead you or your group along the way!
🍭 Chill, fun time with a grooovy local guy/guide who loves to chat!

We also offer a couple of low-key local offerings:
🌿 Hike-A-Month Club — steady monthly guided hikes
🌲 Forest Talk Tuesdays — short, affordable walks for locals to slow down and reconnect outside

Check out the website (tiedyedguide.com) or DM me to learn more.

Happy trails!

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to invite you to join FOREST TALK TUESDAYS — a new monthly forest walk series hosted by me and my good friend Keith Kurman (Keith Kurman), local plant whiz 🌿

Our first walk is TOMORROW — Tuesday, May 26 at 5:00 PM!

Forest Talk Tuesdays is a leisurely group forest walk where we’ll pause along the trail to learn about the flowers, trees, ferns, and wild flora that make Berkshire forests so beautiful and unique.

I hike with Keith often and have even worked with him through his landscaping business (5th pic is from his containers at MassMOCA), so I can personally attest that he has a true gift for making plant knowledge approachable, fascinating, and fun. He’s incredibly articulate — a true plant savant!

Every month on the fourth Tuesday at 5:00 PM from spring through fall, we’ll gather for an easygoing 1–1.5 hour walk at a different location in the Mount Greylock region of the northern Berkshires — North Adams, Williamstown, and Adams.

These are relaxed woodland walks (never strenuous!), designed for curiosity, conversation, and connection with the landscape.

🌿 $6/month seasonal subscription (cancel anytime)
🌿 $10 drop-in option available
