Recorded before an energized audience at California’s Folsom State Prison on January 13, 1968, Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison is one of the most celebrated live albums in country music history. Cash’s commanding baritone, the spare drive of the Tennessee Three, and the immediate response of the inmates give the performance an intensity few studio recordings can match. Its prison-themed repertoire—including “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Cocaine Blues,” “25 Minutes to Go,” and “The Wall”—balances hard-edged realism with Cash’s dry humor and deep identification with outsiders. June Carter joins him on “Jackson” and “I Got a Woman,” while “Greystone Chapel,” written by Folsom inmate Glen Sherley, provides a memorable closing statement.

Released on November 7, 2025, Brookhouse’s "American Sounds" is a five-track EP that turns one family’s journey from Cuba to the United States into a vivid, genre-crossing narrative. Inspired by the artist’s family history—including their departure from Cuba as refugees in 1965—the record considers how migration echoes across generations, shaping memory, belonging, and the ways people learn to present themselves in a new country.

Musically, the EP treats identity as a meeting place rather than a fixed category. Alternative rock and Americana sit alongside Latin jazz, samba, reggaeton, flamenco, funk, bossa nova, and psychedelic textures.
