Mount Trashmore Park is a 165-acre city park located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Opened in 1974, it is a world-renowned example of landfill reuse, created by compacting roughly 650,000 tons of solid waste with clean soil and clay to transform an old dump into a vibrant public green space.
Today, it is the city's most popular park, drawing over one million visitors annually.

The Mountains: The main hill, Mount Trashmore, stands 60 feet tall and spans 800 feet long. A smaller hill on the property is known as Encore Hill.
The Lakes: The park features two main bodies of water. Lake Windsor is a brackish lake where kayaking is permitted. Lake Trashmore is a freshwater lake stocked with fish like largemouth bass and white perch. Land fishing is allowed with a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license.Admission & Hours: The park is free to enter and is open 7 days a week from 7:30 AM until sunset.

Skate Park & Vert Ramp: Famous in the skateboarding community since the 1980s, the park features a premier street course, a 7-foot deep bowl, and a massive 13.5-foot vert ramp. Icons like Tony Hawk have made appearances here.
Playgrounds: Families frequent the spacious, ADA-compliant Kids Cove Playground, a massive setup with slides, swings, and elevated walkways.
Walking & Running Trails: The park has three primary hard-surface trails:Perimeter Trail: 1.95 miles Lake Trail: 1.45 milesMountain Trail: 1.30 miles
Recreation & Rentals: The park features volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and multiple picnic shelters equipped with charcoal grills. Visitors can stop by the park office to check out items like co****le boards, frisbees, and footballs for free by providing a valid ID.
