HALL COUNTY TRAFFIC ALERT: Beginning TODAY, May 27, a temporary detour on Fran Mar Drive will be implemented as part of the Sardis Road Connector project.

E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. will temporarily close the existing school bus entrance during the week of June 1 to allow crews to complete full-depth reconstruction and grade adjustments for the new roadway connection.

The closure is scheduled during summer break to help minimize impacts to the school system and surrounding community.

Drivers should expect detour signage and temporary traffic control throughout the area. Portable message boards will also be in place in advance of the closure to help notify motorists.

Please slow down in work zones, follow posted detours, and use caution while traveling through the area.

All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.

Heavy rain can quickly create dangerous driving conditions across Northeast Georgia. Drivers are urged to slow down and stay alert for flash flooding, standing water, and the risk of hydroplaning.

⚠️ Safety Tips During Heavy Rain:
β€’ Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.
β€’ Slow down during rain events. Wet roads reduce traction and increase stopping distance.
β€’ If your vehicle begins to hydroplane, ease off the accelerator and steer straight until you regain control.
β€’ Increase following distance and use headlights to improve visibility.
β€’ Watch for ponding water in low-lying areas, curves, bridges, and underpasses.

If you encounter flooded roads, Turn Around!

Stay weather aware and give yourself extra travel time during storms.
