We are actively seeking new equity members Join us and help build a thriving general-aviation community in North Central Florida. Gville Flyers, LLC is a flying club in Gainesville, FL (KGNV). We are a group of avid pilots organized to share our love of flying and promote general aviation in our community. We fly a 2006 Diamond DA-40 and a 2010 Cirrus SR20 G3. We emphasize safety, affordability, community, and fun. We are accountable to each other to maintain and operate our aircraft according to the highest standards, and to keep learning and honing our skills. The club is open to every personā€”regardless of age, race, religion, or genderā€” who shares our enthusiasm for the sky.

Two stories about attitude indicator failure in the clouds came out this week on different free podcasts. One was a "traditional" vacuum pump failure incident, and the other was a digital AHRS failure (yes, it can happen!). If you're a proficient instrument pilot you can probably track a course and altitude on backup instruments just fine, but when was the last time you practiced that? How about if you couldn't use the backups either? When was the last time you tracked a course with only a compass and altimeter, or an EFB AHRS? At Gville Flyers we encourage each other to maintain those skills at the next level, with the help of member safety pilots and CFIs.
