Help the Trail of Treats be a safe, fun event by directing people to appropriate parking areas!

Throughout the event, we will redirect vehicles depending on where parking is available. Volunteers will assist by standing or sitting along the roadside to point people in the correct direction. Volunteers will also remind drivers to not park in the grass or unmarked areas as it decreases visibility of pedestrians. Some volunteers may be assigned to the parking areas to direct people into spots. All volunteers will be provided with high-visibility vests. Feel free to bring glow sticks, candy, or lawn chairs to make the experience more comfortable!

To sign up, visit the link in our bio and scroll to the "Happenings" section, or visit https://tnstateparksvolunteer.galaxydigital.com/need/detail/?need_id=1321361

Happy National Butterfly and Hummingbird Day from Bledsoe Creek State Park!
We love supporting our pollinators any way we can from maintaining our native pollinator garden to spreading wildflower seeds throughout the campground.
Here are some ways to support and promote butterflies and hummingbirds in your area:

🌱 Plant native plants. Reach out to your local master gardener club to inquire about natives that work well in your area.

⛲ Provide a water source. A shallow plate with marbles or rocks that the butterflies can use at landing spots works great! Refill often as hot summer can dry up the water quickly!

🐜 During late March-October, add a hummingbird feeder to your garden. Use a 1-part sugar to 4 parts water ratio when making their food and be sure to clean it often to prevent fungus growth and ant activity.

While some species may be abundant enough to harvest, this hike will be educational and conservation focused. Remember to use good foraging practices at all times!
