We’d like to take an opportunity to thank our drivers for everything you do all year round. Last week Garden City’s plant broke down and through every one of your efforts we managed to keep every drop of milk out of the ground. Many of you worked longer hours or extra days to ensure that our dairy farms were taken care of and for that we can’t thank you enough!

In honor of truck driver appreciation week we will be handing out gifts all this week at both Colwich and Garden City and Hampel Oil will be cooking up BBQ at our Garden City location on Wednesday. Be sure to stop through and grab a bite to eat!

Mies & Son’s Trucking is a family-owned milk transport company that started near Colwich, KS transporting bulk milk from Kansas dairy farms to various milk processing plants throughout the Midwestern United States. With over 30 years of experience, we have since, expanded our operations and opened a 2nd location in Garden City, KS to better serve our dairy customers. Job Summary:
Utilizing some of the finest, most well-maintained equipment in the Midwest, drivers will safely load and transport raw milk from dairy farms to our Garden City terminal and, occasionally, to local milk processing facilities.

What You Will Do:
• Operate a commercial motor vehicle, picking up and delivering raw milk within the SW Kansas area
• Follow schedules and directions from dispatch and supervisors to transport loads as efficiently as possible
• Sample, test, and load milk at dairy farms
• Represent yourself and the company in a positive and professional manner during interactions with producers, customers, and coworkers
• Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety, sanitation, and worksite policies

What Skills and Experience We are Looking For:
• Minimum of 1 year Class A CDL Experience
• Extraordinary work ethic
• Seeking long term employment with a stable job history
• Must be over 23 years of age
• Must meet all DOT Requirements

What Will Make You Stand Out:
• Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement
• More than 1 year of commercial tractor-trailer experience (2 or more years is preferred)
• Clean driving record and accident-free MVR (no more than 1 moving violation or accident)
• Ability to work rotating schedules including weekends and holidays
• Willingness to work as a team and individually to ensure the timeliness of farm pick-ups.
