Somos un grupo de artesanos que desde 1998 trabajamos con los misioneros de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Dias, en la elaboración y comercialización de souvenirs y artículos para ellos. Ahora hemos creando un servicio de encomienda al cual hemos llamado “Iguana Courier”.

During a road trip, I passed by a gas station in New Mexico where I saw a t-shirt that said, "New Mexico, no New and no Mexico." I couldn't resist sharing that anecdote with my family while we were on our way to the stunning Carlsbad Caverns.

As I studied more about the history of New Mexico, I realized that the name comes from the Spanish colonial era. The Spaniards explored these lands in the 16th century (1540),and although the territory was originally known as part of "New Spain," it was later that they formalized the term "New Mexico" to refer to this particular region.

After the Mexican-American War in 1848 and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, this territory passed into the hands of the United States, but the name New Mexico remained.
