We spent the day at the new Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, TX, this past weekend for a preview day, and it was SO MUCH FUN! The park officially opens on July 1st, and it is completely focused on our little ones. My 3-year-old had a blast, and we were able to enjoy almost everything the park has to offer in about 5 hours before nap time.
✨The Lands✨
The park is super colorful, and each of the 7 lands stays perfectly on theme:
🩷Isle of Curiosity: The welcome area where you can meet Gabby.
🩷Shrek’s Swamp: Ride attractions, grab a yummy pretzel, splash in the play area, and meet Shrek and Fiona.
🩷Puss in Boots Del Mar: Features a sit-down restaurant, shops, a show, and fun swings.
🩷Minions: Perfect for photo ops, meeting a Minion, and a super fun water ride.
🩷Jurassic World Adventure Camp: Home to the park’s biggest coaster, the double helix ride, a massive Stegosaurus playground, and a chance to meet a baby raptor.
🩷Trolls: Meet Poppy and Branch, watch a show, have a dance party, and ride the balloon ride (Hair in the Clouds) or the Trolls coaster.
🩷SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottoms: Meet Character, enjoy a large splash area, and battle it out on an interactive water ride where you can sq**rt others (and onlookers can sq**rt you!).
✨Park Highlights & Tips✨
Since this was a preview day, we enjoyed manageable crowds, with most rides taking less than 5 minutes to board. The rides are perfectly designed for kids not too long, but not too short with our personal favorites being the Trolls coaster and both water rides.

Pro-Tips for your visit:
⭐️Stay Cool & Dry: Get there early before the Texas heat kicks in. Wear clothes that can get wet, and definitely bring a water resistant or wet bag, as you carry your items with you on the raft rides.
⭐️Hydration: Buy the refillable cup! It works all day. Or you can bring your own water bottles.
⭐️Dining: We loved Goofy Goober’s for a burger and salad, and grabbed ice cream in Trolls land. Everything was delicious!
⭐️Logistics: Parking is $20 for standard or $30 for preferred. Since the park isn't massive, standard parking is perfectly fine.
⭐️Plan Ahead: While I didn't see the hotel rooms, it opens July 1st and would be a perfect home base for littles who need a midday nap. Having that option would have been great for us so we could have headed back to the park refreshed after a break
We had an absolute blast, and if you are looking for tickets (many dates in July are already sold out), I’m happy to help you get set up! ☀️🎟️
