There are SO MANY different roads to healing. For some; comfort, clarity and breakthrough are found in art therapy, others find it in dance therapy, talk therapy, nature therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, animal assisted therapy, music therapy, so on and so forth.
There’s no “right” way? There’s not only ONE path that leads to hope & peace in your heart when you’re felling overwhelmed, anxious or at your edge. I wholeheartedly believe that TRUE emotional healing can ONLY come from Jesus but He has ALSO blessed us with so many “tools” to pair up with the truths found in scripture, these tools can help us navigate how we get there. 🙏🏻 Sometimes it’s miraculous, I’m fortunate to have experienced this, sometimes it’s not, I’ve experienced this as well.
All options (except the miraculous) take time, a desire for change and commitment. You’re not going to come out on the other side of restoration in one session using ANY human modalities. Though, some level of freedom and ease CAN potentially be felt after each session IF you are ready for it. 🙌🏼
It’s no secret I’m a HUGE advocate of nature therapy. In fact, I believe in it so much that I went on to get certified in forest therapy & nature mindfulness. Of course I know it’s not for everyone. For example, I have a boot-camper who casually shared with me after our workout one day that she hates spending time in the wilderness. This type of therapy would NOT benefit her; in fact, it could induce more anxiety. We each need to find what works for us. What helps us chip away at the layers and open up to what we have going on DEEP inside. What makes us feel relaxed and helps us be honest with ourselves AND open to accepting the healing Jesus has waiting for us.
Want to hear another MAJOR perk of forest therapy? . . .
