I had the opportunity to hear John Michael Thompson, owner of Thompson Boatworks, speak today and what an impressive story.

What started as an interest in designing and building his own boat has grown into a thriving business building and selling 10 boats a year with a 15-month waiting list!

It’s inspiring to see young entrepreneurs choose to stay right here in our district, build something from the ground up, and create opportunity locally. Stories like his remind us that rural Georgia is full of talent, grit, and innovation.
