The days are getting shorter, and unfortunately, boating season won’t last forever. If you’re ready to put your boat or PWC to bed for the winter, Tygart Marine & Recreation is ready to help!

We are now scheduling winterization services for:

First, we want to say how much we appreciate our customers. Over the years, we've been happy to answer questions, offer advice, squeeze people into the schedule, help with quick fixes, and cut folks a break when we can. We genuinely enjoy helping boaters stay on the water.❤️🚤

That said...

If you've watched 37 YouTube videos, replaced 14 parts, rewired half the boat, and are now sending us messages asking for a free diagnosis, we're probably going to ask you to bring the boat in.🤔

Diagnosing a problem through photos, texts, and secondhand descriptions is mostly guesswork—especially after years of modifications, repairs, and "creative engineering."🧐

The reality is that most of the people asking for detailed troubleshooting and diagnostics never actually bring the boat in. Meanwhile, our shop survives by inspecting, testing, and repairing boats, not by trying to diagnose mystery problems through Facebook Messenger. 👨‍🔧🧰

Unfortunately, our crystal ball is kept in the shop right next to the diagnostic equipment. If you'd like an actual answer instead of another guess from the internet, bring the boat by and we'll be happy to take a look.🔮

We appreciate all of our customers and are always glad to help where we can. Just remember: the best diagnostics happen when the boat is here, not when the crystal ball is.🔧🧠👀

⚠️ SAFE BOATING ALERT ⚠️

As lake and river levels continue to drop, hidden debris and submerged objects become a serious hazard on the water. Logs, stumps, rocks, and floating debris are often difficult — or impossible — to see until it’s too late.

Please use extra caution when operating your boat:
🚤 Keep a careful lookout
🚤 Slow down in unfamiliar or shallow areas
🚤 Stay alert for floating or submerged debris
🚤 Remember that striking an object can cause your vessel to stop suddenly, creating a dangerous situation for everyone onboard

Hitting submerged debris can cause catastrophic damage to:
🔧 Propellers
🔧 Outdrives
🔧 Lower units
🔧 Hulls
🔧 Pontoons

The photos below are a good reminder that sometimes the propeller is the “lucky” part to be damaged.

If you do experience damage, we’re here to help. Tygart Marine and Recreation repairs and replaces all makes of outdrives, lower units, and propellers quickly, and we’ll work directly with your insurance company since this is typically a covered occurrence.
