We’ve now visited all 64 National Parks. Yes, even the newest one!
I’m sharing a snippet of our visit to each park, and I decided to go alphabetically.
So here is park 1.
📍Acadia National Park, Maine
We’ve been to Acadia three times: twice with family and once, just the two of us. Summer is crazy busy but beautiful. We found October to be a gorgeous time to visit, and all the trails were open. Some of our favorites are closed in summer for bird nesting.
Besides great hiking, there are plenty of ocean spots, bays, and coves, plus the fun town of Bar Harbor to explore. Oh, and don’t forget the amazing food!
Acadia is also unusual because the towns and the park exist side by side, with people living all around it.
If you visit, definitely check out the old carriage roads. There are 45 miles of them, built between 1913 and 1940 by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr., and they offer scenic routes for walking, biking, and horseback riding.
Acadia would easily rank in our top 15 of the 64 parks. Don’t miss it!
