Always a member of the GIE family, we'd like to extend our congratulations to Jon Ketterling for being named the 2025 Courage Champion through the Grand Island YMCA. In 2019, Jon was diagnosed with a cancer that ultimately broke his right femur, and the decision was made to amputate. Since then, Jon has been a picture of grit and determination as he rose up from these challenges and accomplished goal after goal. Jon has nearly cut his mile walk time in half since starting this journey and he continues to smash goal after goal. It is estimated that 90-95% of upper leg amputees will not be able to use a prosthetic or make the choice to go without. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had a front row seat as Jon was beating the odds day after day. Even though Jon retired from GIE in 2024, it is our pleasure to watch him grow and progress every day. It is our honor that we can call Jon part of our ever-growing family.
