Like many drivers in our industry, Jon left Grand Island Express after hearing promises of more home time and higher pay.

After experiencing the reality for himself, Jon made the decision to come back home to Grand Island Express.

Recently, we sat down with Jon to learn more about what led him back.

As Jon reflected on his time away, he shared that many of the promises simply didn't match reality. The pay wasn't what he expected. The quality of life wasn't what he had been led to believe. Most importantly, the support, care, and commitment to driver well-being that he valued were missing.

Unfortunately, stories like Jon's aren't uncommon in our industry. That's why we work hard every day to create an environment where drivers feel respected, supported, and appreciated.

When asked what he missed most, Jon didn't hesitate.

"I missed everyone in the office. The hospitality. The fact that I'm not just a number. Grand Island Express pays well, but more importantly, they do what they say they're going to do."

Jon also spoke highly of company owner Jim Pirnie.

"Jim has built an amazing company, and I'm thankful to be back. If I could, I'd give Jim an award that would bring nationwide attention so the whole industry could see what a great place this is."
