Kay-Cel Core is impervious to water absorption and has very high physical properties. This "no-rot" substrate is used widely in many industries including: construction, marine, recreation and transportation. The marine industr

y has found great benefits using a composite core in bulkheads, floors, stringers, and the transom area of the boat. In addition, compared to marine grade plywood, there is a significant advantage of a 30% weight reduction. Kay-Cel Core is mostly used as a core material but can also be used, without fiberglass/resin, as a base material for floors, cabinets, walls, etc. Urethane material has many excellent structural properties, but still must be protected from U/V rays. Therefore, carpeting, coatings, or laminates can easily be applied to prevent material from being exposed to U/V light. Each Kay-Cel Core panel is sanded to create an excellent bonding surface and is compatible with most resins. Depending on the density you choose, additional Kay-Cel Core benefits may include sound dampening, good thermal insulation properties, as well as, good staple and screw holding for your next important project.
