Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. This role involves maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling financial statements, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The Bookkeeper will play a vital part in ensuring our financial integrity and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
• Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
• Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Handle payroll processing in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and governmental accounting requirements when applicable
• Assist with budgeting processes and financial analysis to support organizational planning
• Support tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of tax-related transactions and documentation
• Perform double entry bookkeeping to ensure the integrity of all financial data
• Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial records
• Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities for audit purposes
Experience
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts
• Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting practices is essential
• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis accurately
• Experience with payroll processing, tax filings, and budget management is desirable
• Strong understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation processes, and financial report writing is required
• Ability to handle high-volume data entry tasks accurately using 10 key typing skills or equivalent speed
