WOOD IS A CROP—Farmers and loggers both operate equipment-intensive businesses, depend on fuel, work with natural resources, and face risks outside their control.
The policy question is simple: Should qualifying logging businesses have access to the same types of relief programs available to agriculture—fuel relief, tax incentives, disaster assistance, and affordable financing?
Forestry is agriculture’s neighbor, and logging is a critical link between the landowner and the mill. 🇺🇸
