⚠️Extreme instability today and tomorrow! This will create a highly volatile environment today if and when storms fire. We could see explosive and rapid storm development later this afternoon where the Cap breaks. A subtle cap is expected to be in place until a small piece of energy arrives this afternoon termed a short wave. This will help the air rise and cool, essentially breaking the cap and forming thunderstorms. A cap is a layer of warm-stable air aloft which prevents storms from forming.
Extreme instability also means INTENSIVE lightning today in any storms! We expect a LOT of lightning in today & tomorrow's thunderstorms!
