Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Because of your voices, your compassion, and your commitment to protecting children, Jesse’s Law (HB 896) has passed the North Carolina House and is now moving forward in the Senate.

This bill was born from unimaginable heartbreak. In 2012, I lost my son Jesse in a tragedy that could have been prevented. I did everything I could to protect him, but the system lacked the training to recognize the danger. Jesse’s Law is a step toward changing that — starting with a study committee to develop meaningful domestic violence training standards for professionals involved in child custody decisions.

This bill honors Jesse’s life and fights for children whose voices aren’t always heard. I am incredibly grateful to the primary sponsor, the cosponsors, the advocates, and every single person who stood behind this effort. Your support means more than words can express.

We’re not done yet — the Senate must now act. But today, I’m taking a moment to say thank you. You are helping turn pain into purpose.
