This beautiful Green Sea Turtle blessed me while I was snorkeling in Shark’s Cove on the North Shore of Oahu. So amazing!

North Shore Shark Encounters-
I was very apprehensive about doing the shark encounter but every member of my family bullied me into it, lol. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip. We loaded the boat promptly at 7am and were taken out a little ways where they dropped the cage, still attached to the boat. Immediately Galapagos sharks began to swarm the boat. There were probably 8 or more sharks anywhere between 6-9 feet long swimming around the boat and cage. We were also visited by a very large, maybe 12 foot or more, tiger shark. My family of 6 got into the cage for about 20 minutes then the other group of 6 got about 20 minutes. That does not seem like a very long time but it was plenty of time especially considering being in a shark cage in the middle of the ocean was a bit rough and made us all queasy. I would highly recommend motion sickness medication before the trip. Being in the ocean with sharks was a very surreal and I’d highly recommend it to anybody. The North Shore Shark Encounter crew was very prompt, informative, and professional.

Waimea Valley's conservation area located on Oahu’s North Shore is notable for its botanical garden, paved walking path to a swimming area near a waterfall, and amenities such as a restaurant and gift shop. Restrooms are plentiful at both the start and end of the trail. The site is renowned for hosting one of the best cultural luaus in the evenings (Tao Luau will be featured later). The path's easy design includes a shuttle service for visitors who require it, and several dirt paths lead to diverse gardens, overlooks, and cultural educational centers. Our visit during the summer months revealed the area's breathtaking natural beauty and abundance of flowering plants, which appear to be present year-round. The cost of admission is $25, with the fee waived upon purchase of the Tao Luau, and an additional fee is required for parking. Get there early as there is a limited amount of life jackets available for swimming in the waterfall pool area. The line was 30 people long when we arrived just after noon and we opted not to wait.
