📢 Attention regional travelers! ✈️ Phase 2 of GSP’s Runway Rehab project begins THIS Friday, and there are two weekend runway closures you need to know about. ⬇️

The runway will be closed:
• Friday, Sept. 11 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 a.m.
And again:
• Friday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 21 at 8:00 a.m.

While the runway is closed, no flights will arrive or depart from GSP, including cargo operations. Flights will continue before the closure begins and resume once the runway reopens Monday morning.

📲 Travelers should check directly with their airline for the latest flight information and flight status updates.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work and continue keeping GSP safe and reliable for years to come! ✈️💙

If you’re flying through GSP this month, here’s something to keep in mind⬇️

Our runway rehabilitation project has started and includes repaving more than 6,500 feet of runway, repairing concrete panels, replacing runway markings and improving shoulder and safety areas.

There will be nightly runway closures, plus two 60-hour full weekend closures:

Sept. 11–14:
Friday at 8 p.m. → Monday at 8 a.m.

Sept. 18–21:
Friday at 8 p.m. → Monday at 8 a.m.

Flying during either weekend? Check with your airline for the latest information about your flight.

Thank you all for your patience while we work to keep GSP’s runway safe and reliable for years to come. 🛫

Summer skies were showing off around GSP. 🌈

Firefighter Chris Eagan captured this incredible picture of a summer storm from the GSP Fire Department, while Operations Officer Kristen Cunningham caught a beautiful rainbow over our cargo facility after yesterday’s storm.

Not a bad view from the airfield, but we’re wishing for plenty of sunnier days ahead!

Today was the final day of our Work-Based Learning internship program, and we’re so grateful for the incredible group of interns who spent their summer with us.💙

This summer, GSP was proud to participate in the OneSpartanburg, Inc. EDGE Work-Based Learning program, welcoming 17 rising high school seniors and recent graduates from Spartanburg County for eight weeks of hands-on learning and real-world experience.

Throughout the summer, our interns worked alongside teams across the airport, explored careers in aviation, and made meaningful contributions to departments across GSP. Their fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and willingness to jump in made a positive impact and we loved having them as part of our team.

To all of our interns: Thank you for all of your hard work this summer. We can’t wait to see where your journeys take you next!✈️
