Today marks a new chapter for Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport!

This morning, we were proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of our new $7 million terminal and aircraft parking apron project alongside local, state, and federal leaders, airport stakeholders, and members of our community.

The project will deliver a new 5,500-square-foot terminal featuring a restaurant with an airside patio, a 24-hour pilot lounge, a conference and education room, and modern facilities for Airport and FBO operations. The development also includes approximately 150,000 square feet of new aircraft parking apron.

This milestone is made possible through a $6 million federal investment secured with the support of Congresswoman Stephanie Bice, $500,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, and $500,000 in local funding shared by the cities of Guthrie and Edmond.

Speakers included Airport Director Caden Young, ODAA Executive Director Grayson Ardies, Congesswoman Stephanie Bice, Oklahoma State Senator Chuck Hall, Oklahoma State Representative Nicole Miller, Guthrie Mayor Adam Ropp, and Edmond Mayor Mark Nash.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our funding partners, elected officials, Airport Board, tenants, and everyone who joined us today to celebrate this important investment in our airport's future.

We're excited to see this project take shape and look forward to what lies ahead for GOK!

Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport generates $37.2 million in annual economic impact!

The newly released 2026 Oklahoma Statewide Economic Impact Study highlights the important role GOK plays in supporting jobs, businesses, and economic activity throughout Central Oklahoma.

The numbers tell the story:

✈️ $37.2 million in total annual economic impact
✈️ $24.4 million in annual spending
✈️ $12.7 million in annual payroll
✈️ 216 jobs supported

Across Oklahoma, the aerospace and defense industry generates $52.5 billion in annual economic activity, demonstrating the importance of aviation to communities across our state.

We're proud of the businesses, employees, pilots, and aviation community who contribute to GOK's economic impact every day.

A CH-47D Chinook made a stop at GOK! 🚁

This twin-engine heavy-lift helicopter is known for some impressive capabilities. The CH-47 can carry up to 26,000 pounds using its external cargo hook, reach a maximum speed of 160 knots, cruise at 140 knots, and has a cruise range of approximately 360 nautical miles.

We’re excited to share the final renderings for the new terminal at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport!

The approximately 5,500-square-foot facility will include a restaurant and airside patio, 24-hour pilot lounge, conference space, and offices for Airport and FBO operations. The new facility will nearly double the Airport’s existing terminal space, providing additional capacity to accommodate visitors to our area.

The project also includes approximately 150,000 square feet of new aircraft parking apron.

This $7 million project is a significant investment in GOK and in the partnership between the Cities of Guthrie and Edmond.

Construction is just around the corner, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 11:30 a.m.

This marks an exciting new chapter for GOK as we continue to grow!

Have you ever seen a helicopter land on top of a truck? 🚁

This specialized nurse truck serves as a mobile support platform for helicopters conducting aerial herbicide application. The helicopter can land directly on the truck between flights as crews support the aircraft and prepare it for its next application.

We got an up-close look at this unique operation this morning!
