Charles R. "Chuck" Brennan Sr., 85, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Seaton Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD.

Born February 23, 1939, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late James R. Brennan and Thelma R. (Moore) Brennan.

Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Clear Spring High School and a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Cuban Crisis.

He was a diesel mechanic for Baker Driveway, Charlton Brothers Transport, and Blue Seal Feeds, retiring in 2015. Chuck was a member of the Alsatia Club, the Clear Spring American Legion, the Seldom Seen Hunt Club, and the Stoney Cabin Hunt Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda Sue (Mongan) Brennan of Clear Spring; a son, Charles R. "Chuck" Brennan Jr. of Clear Spring; a stepdaughter, Melissa Stallknecht and husband, Greg, of Hagerstown; grandson, Todd Brennan of Clear Spring; step-granddaughter, Kara Hemphill and husband, Joe, of Smithsburg; and two great-granddaughters, Millie and Maeve.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, Robert H. Brennan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Chuck's honor to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Harrison L. “Tiny” Lushbaugh, 87, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Ravenwood Assisted Living, after a short illness.

Born January 3, 1933 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Howard Lee Lushbaugh Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) Lushbaugh.

He retired in 1994 after a long career as an active member and official for the Teamsters Local 992 and the Teamsters International.

He was an active participant in many local sports teams and a member of area social clubs.
An avid golfer, he organized a number of tournaments and made many friends on the golf course.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Zelma (Jacobs) Lushbaugh; his son, Gerald Lushbaugh and wife, Alice; a daughter, Vicki Higgins; stepdaughter, Patty Powley and husband, Bill; stepson, Terry Henson and wife, Pam; three sisters, Chris Grimes and husband, Gary, Connie Davis and Shirley Martin; beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Gerald, William, Donald, Clarence and Howard; one sister, Diane Roberts; and two stepsons, James L. Henson Jr. and Dennis Henson.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends will be received on Saturday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Ivan Junior “Jack” Holland, 96, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born July 13, 1923 in Pinesburg, MD, he was the son of the late Ivan McAllister and Susie Leigh Holland.

He was a 1941 graduate of Williamsport High School.

Jack was a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army Air Force, serving as a Tail Gunner on a B-17 in World War II. He flew 34 missions in the European Theater.

He retired from Charlton Brothers Transportation as a terminal manager in Hagerstown and Cumberland, MD after 46 years.

He was a lifelong member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, where he volunteered with the Food Bank, was a member of the Finance Committee, the Rehoboth Bowling League and Bible Study.

He was a member of the Williamsport Lions Club, the Washington County Traffic Club, and was an avid sports fan. He loved the Baltimore Orioles, the Maryland Terps, fishing, his family and his community.

Jack is survived by his wife of 75 years, Audrey Fae Wiley Holland; four daughters, Connie Spong, Sandy Hose and husband, Ed, and Angie Boyer, all of Hagerstown, and Kristie Baker of Williamsport; a son, Doug Holland and wife, Susan, of Hyattsville, MD; a brother, Larry Holland and wife, Sandra, of Elkton, MD; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, June Shank, Jean Shupp and Nancy Carter; and a brother, Ray Holland.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport, MD 21795.

Funeral services will follow at Rehoboth United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Monday with the Rev. Michael Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, with full military honors provided by the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport, MD 21795.
