Thank you to Pharr International Bridge for inviting our Port Director Walker Smith to be a part of the Gateway Forum 2026, today. Industry leaders, policy makers and trade experts took the stage to discuss logistics, infrastructure and the future of trade in the Rio Grande Valley, border region and globally.

As part of the Rail & Seaports Panel, we shared the Port's perspective of both the current outlook and future prospects the RGV has as a global trade and manufacturing hub. Link to panel discussion in comments.

We are pleased to welcome Miguel Pereira Kawas, Director of Business Development at the Port of Harlingen Authority, as a featured speaker at the RioPlex FDI Summit: From The Border To The World.

With a background in Industrial Management, Engineering, and international business development, Miguel brings more than 15 years of experience across the United States, Colombia, and Mexico.

In his current role, he focuses on expanding the Port of Harlingen’s profile, building strategic partnerships, and identifying opportunities that support regional growth and investment.

We look forward to hearing Miguel’s perspective on business development, logistics, and cross-border opportunities at the RioPlex FDI Summit.
