CONTAINER OPERATIONS - DMS Agencies will a
t all times maintain and update records of containers and chassis movements and inventories within the assigned geographical area under its junsdiction. DMS Agencies will establish container pool sites as required and pursuant to authorization by the Principal. Arrangements for on-hiring of equipment whenever available will be made pursuant to terms negotiated by the Principal with Lessors. Surveys of on-hired equipment if required by the Principal will be arranged for urder guidelines set forth and specified by the Principal. Damaged equipment will be reported to the Principal and repairs for any damage will be arranged for under guidelines set forth by the prinncipal. Maintenance of Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIR), arranging for off-hire of leased containers, direct interchanges with another line, sub-leasing and billing will be performed pursuant to procdures prescribed by the Principal. TRAFFIC FUNCTION - Import traffic moves will be coordinated with Principal's port agents, consignees, customs house brokers and delivering carriers as necessary. DMS Agencies will ensure that original bills-of-lading are submitted when necessary prior to release of cargo. Arrangements for delivery of import cargo will be made as required. Freights due will be collected on behalf of the Principal and transmitted to the Principal in accordance with prescribed procedures. Appropriate arrival and delivery reports will be distributed as instructed. Export bookings, booking reports and recapitulations will be be made in conformity with requirements of the Principal. Special attention will be given to re**er and hazardous cargo bookings. Arrangements for placing containers for picking up export cosignments, preparation of rail billing, and tracking of cotainers to the port of export will be performed by DMS Agencies. Appropriate movement and departure reports will be prepared and distributed as a matter of routine. All rate quotations for import and export cargoes will be made in conformity with instructions and guidelines specified by the Principal. DOCUMENTATION - DMS Agencies assumes responsibility for ensuring that shipper's export bills-of-lading are provided to the port agent in a timelv manner. Upon authorization to release the bill-of-lading, the original will be issued to the shipper or his agent. In respect of express cargo bills-of-lading or any other type of bill-of-lading in use, appropriate procedures will be implemented. Likewise, all other documentation requirements, e.g. dock receipts, export declarations, fumigation certificates, hazardous cargo declarations etc. will be obtained and provided to the designated party. Freight due on prepaid bills-of-lading will be collected and transmitted to the Principal in accordance with established procedures. Documentation procedures with respect to import cargo are relatively simple because preparation of documents is dealt with by load agents. Therefore, our responsibility consists mainly of notifying clients of good's arrrival, collection of freights and release of cargo.
