Midland Public Transit is pleased to announce that, effective November 1, 2026, we will be assuming operation of Hall County Rural Transit services.

We want to assure all current riders that this transition is designed to be seamless. Clients can expect the same reliable transportation service, the same service area, and the same operating hours you currently receive.

For now, you may continue to use the same phone number to make your reservations. There will be no immediate change to the reservation phone number.

In the next few months, we will transition to Midland Public Transit’s dispatch number:
1-888-997-1655

We will provide additional information and notice before the phone number changes so you will know when to begin using the new number.

Our goal is to continue providing safe, dependable, and customer-focused transportation services for residents of rural Hall County. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you. If you have any questions about this transition, please contact us at 1-888-997-1655.

A Roadeo (yes, spelled “Roadeo”!) gives Transit Operators a chance to show off their skills, compete for awards, and have some fun with fellow transit professionals! This year's was no different. 🏆

Drivers from all over Nebraska came together to put their skills to the test in Pre-Trip Inspections, Wheelchair Securement, and some pretty challenging driving courses. 🚐💨

Our Midland Public Transit team had a fantastic time being part of this year’s Roadeo, and we’re especially proud of our driver, Larry Johnson, who took home 3rd place in the Mini Van Division! 🥉🎉

We also have another big reason to celebrate: our very own Pam Arterburn was named Public Transit Manager of the Year! 🏆👏 We couldn’t be more excited to see her recognized!

And, of course, no Roadeo recap would be complete without Ron from the Nebraska Safety Center making an unexpected appearance as our photo bomber. 😂📸 Thanks, Ron!

October is Pedestrian Safety Month—a nationwide effort to remind everyone that safety on our roads is a shared responsibility.

Whether you’re walking, driving, or riding, remember:
🚸🚲 Be Alert- Watch for pedestrians, especially at intersections and crosswalks.
🚶‍➡️🚦 Cross Safely- Use marked crosswalks and follow pedestrian signals when available.
🟧🟩 Be Visible- Wear bright or reflective clothing, especially when walking in low-light conditions.
✋🛑 Slow Down- Drivers should be especially cautious in areas where pedestrians are present.
⚠️🛣️ Stay Focused- Put distractions away and keep your attention on the road.

As students head back to school, let's all do our part to keep them safe. Please remember to:
1. Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
2. Stop for school buses when the stop arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.
3. Watch carefully for children crossing streets, getting on and off buses, and walking or riding bikes to school.
4. Put your phone away and stay focused on the road.
5. Leave a few minutes early so you don't feel rushed.

Children can be unpredictable, especially during the excitement of a new school year. A little extra patience and attention can make all the difference. Let's work together to make this school year a safe one for every student, parent, bus driver, and crossing guard.
