As most of you know, if you visit our antique hangar in Hastings you’ll see many different antique airplanes, but now there’s something else there that hasn’t been before. This 1968 Ford Country sedan isn’t just another old car, but a car with some Nebraska airport history. This wagon spent many years at the Minden airport and was used by many pilots visiting the Pioneer Village Museum. Recently the Nebraska Antique Airplane Preservation INC (NAAPI) 501C3 purchased this from Pioneer Village with donations from its members for the intention of repairing it and once again getting it on the road as a courtesy car for traveling pilots and running other errands during our events. After purchasing we came to find out that after sitting many years the engine was stuck but one of our members sourced us a running replacement engine. We will be having work weekends at the airport and would welcome any help in getting this wagon back on the road. If you would like to volunteer or donate to the cause reach out to one of our members. We’re also looking for a decent set of used tires 225/75R15 or similar size if anyone has a reasonable priced set or a set to donate let us know. Thank you for the support on this project.
