10 Years of Jose Pacheco: A message from Tony
Jose,
Congratulations on hitting your 10-year anniversary with the company!
I still remember your interview 10 years ago like it was yesterday. You walked into my office in a full suit, sharp slacks and a nice shirt. You were soft-spoken, but when you shared your story, you completely won me over.
You had just spent 10 years at Sam’s Club, you were a dedicated husband and father of four, and you were simply looking for the next chapter in your career. What I saw that day was someone hungry for an opportunity, incredibly responsible, and driven by a deep desire to provide for his family.
Over the last decade, you’ve grown and learned so much alongside me. You’ve mastered imports, dealt with your fair share of angry vessel owners, become our ICS compliance lead with the TSA, and taken care of some of our most complex air exports around the world and across our Pacific trade. You take on a massive amount of responsibility, and you do it without missing a beat.
There were difficult times too. When you lost your dad during COVID, you were going through something incredibly hard while we were all working around the clock. You got sick yourself, and we almost lost you. It was a tough few months, and one of the hardest parts was that we couldn’t even give you that hug of condolences at the time. Just know that we dearly care for you and your family.
I am truly humbled to be both your boss and your friend. Thank you, Jose, for your loyalty, your hard work, and for being such a massive part of our small ICS family all these years.
I’m very proud of you for simply being you and for working so hard for your family.
