Everything is an ice rink, but not the runway at KHYR. We are not Minneapolis but I’m proud of the work we did to get flights in after a significant ice event. We applied an environmentally friendly and FAA approved runway deicer to bust up the ice. This departure into thick clouds was too cool not to share.

This Net Jet quarter share overnighted and the crew were treated to some Northern Wisco hospitality. Rave reviews given for the Holiday Inn and the Mexican restaurant next door. The aircraft was fueled, deiced from overnight frost, and the Citation Latitude only needed 1,500 feet to launch with 6,600 pounds of fuel on board headed towards Madison for its next live leg of passengers. Additional activity for the holidays means additional income for our local businesses. Let’s not forget the caretakers and property managers who never get the credit they deserve. The jobs and businesses supported can be difficult to calculate but the impact is real. Merry Christmas to all our followers and don’t forget to stop out for some morning Backroads coffee, cookies, and good times.

HAAS construction pulled more than a 1/4 of the runway on day 1! Our runway rehab got off to a fast start.
