"J-Bar Braunvieh cattle work in all phases of the industry, from the pasture to the feed yard or the A heifer born that year is still in their herd.

J-Bar Braunvieh is owned and operated by John and Loretta Hall. They calved their first Braunvieh influenced calves in 1996. Their focus has always been to breed fertile, efficient, maternal cattle that would be offered as breeding bulls, bred heifers or young pairs. They have black and polled Braunvieh, percentages and purebreds available. Their cows were developed through carcass testing from th

e Gelbvieh and Braunvieh associations. These genetics will add hybrid vigor to an Angus based herd. They keep data on each individual calf in the herd from conception to consumption. DNA genetic testing for feed efficiency and tenderness on the herd bulls has greatly enhanced the slow process of generational improvements. Bulls are gain tested and sonogramed with data available upon request. They have had much success in the San Antonio Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show and TCFA Beef Challenge carcass calves, and Green Springs Bull Test with top honors in each show or contest.

We have done well in the San Antonio Livestock Show, Houston Livestock Show and TCFA Beef Challenge carcass calves, Midland Bull Test in Columbus, Montana and Green Springs Bull Test in Nevada, Missouri. In the last couple of years, we have added a new component to our life. We have entered the Show Ring......several Jr. Braunvieh kids are hauling J Bar Braunvieh heifers. We love it when the heifers win, but it’s always better when the kids win.
