As we close out September — National Su***de Prevention Month — we want to take a moment to remind our community that the fight doesn’t end when September does. ❤️
Farmers and ranchers carry a tremendous amount on their shoulders. The long hours, financial pressures, unpredictable weather, isolation, and the weight of keeping a farm or ranch going can take a toll. Farmer su***de rates have been reported at 2–5 times the national average, making this conversation especially important in our agricultural communities.
We have to keep talking about mental health beyond the month of September. We have to check in on our friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and the person who always says, “I’m fine.”
Sometimes a simple “How are you really doing?” can open the door to a conversation that someone desperately needs.
Check in. Listen. Reach out. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
And if you or someone you know is struggling, please use the resources available. Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
You are more important than the work waiting on you.
The chores can wait. You can’t.
From our family at Down Home Tack & Feed — please look out for one another. We’re all in this community together. ❤️
