The Nautilus Club is Explora Journeys’ dedicated children’s and teens’ program aimed at 6–17-year-olds. It as a space where children can socialise, play, do sports and take part in organised activities rather than simply being left with a basic kids’ playroom. It is normally open 9am–midnight, but hours defer depending on your voyage itinerary. They will have the hours posted at the front check-in desk.

There’s quite a lot for older children/teens:

* 🎮 PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, Xbox and Nintendo Switch
* 🥽 VR experiences and organised gaming tournaments
* 🎱 Pool/billiards and foosball
* 🎨 Arts, crafts and painting

🏋️‍♀️ Wellness at sea, taken to another level. 🌊

EXPLORA III offers an impressive range of fitness and wellbeing options, from the state-of-the-art Technogym Fitness Centre and dedicated studio on Deck 5, with cardio, strength and functional training, to Pilates Reformer, yoga and personalised training.

And then there’s the outdoor experience…

🌊 Deck 14 – Open Air Fitness: train with the ocean as your backdrop, with Skillrow rowers, Group Cycle bikes and functional training equipment.

🏃‍♀️ Deck 12 – Running Track: an extended 262m panoramic track with uninterrupted ocean views.

🎾 Deck 14 – Sports Court: get competitive with padel, pickleball and basketball.

There’s even an in-suite fitness option, with a Technogym functional training kit and virtual coaching for those who prefer to work out privately.

🧺 Self-service laundry

There are two guest launderettes, located on Decks 9 and 10. They have washing machines and dryers, and use of the machines is complimentary, including hypoallergenic detergent.

There are also irons and ironing boards in both laundry rooms. Explora doesn’t put irons in the suites for safety reasons; instead, suites have a handheld Steamery garment steamer.

👔 If you don’t want to do it yourself

There is also a full laundry service, arranged through your Suite Host.

* Next-day service: collection before 10am, returned before 7pm the following day.
* Same-day express: collection before 9am and returned by 7pm, with a 50% express surcharge.
* Your host can also help with pressing and garment care.

There are some loyalty benefits too: Explora Club Gold members receive one complimentary laundry bag per Journey, while Platinum and Diamond members receive complimentary daily laundry, one bag per day.

The private oceanfront terrace is the real selling point. It has both a dining table and a comfortable daybed, creating a proper outdoor living space rather than simply a balcony with two chairs. It’s particularly great for my clients who like breakfast overlooking the ocean, relax on the daybed during the afternoon, or enjoy a private drink while sailing—without moving up to the much more expensive Residences.

On EXPLORA III, the Retreat Residence Room 8001 (RR) is one of the Ocean Residence categories—essentially a spacious, apartment-style suite designed to feel more like a private home at sea.

Retreat Residence highlights

* 77–81 m² (829–872 sq ft) of interior space.
* Located in the forward-most part of the ship, giving it a particularly distinctive outlook.
* Separate living, dining and sleeping areas, with a dining table for four.
* A separate bedroom with a king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe and seated vanity.
* Marble bathroom with bathtub, separate walk-in shower and heated floors.
* Workout anytime with Technogym equipment delivered to your room and on demand classes on your television.
* Spacious ocean-facing terrace with sun loungers, dining area and a private outdoor whirlpool.

⭐ The unique feature

The standout feature is its forward-facing position at the bow of EXPLORA III. Unlike most of the higher residences, which look primarily out over the ship’s sides or aft, the Retreat Residence gives you sweeping views directly over the ship’s bow and of the ship’s navigation. It’s particularly special when sailing into a destination—you can watch the ship approach ports and more remote landscapes from your own terrace. Only draw back is that is it a little loud when the anchor is dropping, being lifted and during docking and a this suite has a smaller balcony.

And you get that view from a private outdoor whirlpool, which is probably the most memorable aspect of the category.

The new droid experience in Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish is a great enhancement to this space! If you haven’t had a chance to visit this location it offers a giant “space window” that changes to different Star Wars planets like Tatooine, Coruscant, and Mustafar, with ships and battles happening outside the viewport. The drinks are also out of this world with smoke bubbles, glowing cubes, dramatic presentation rigs, and themed glassware, and glowing lightsaber stir sticks. A must visit for any Star Wars fan!
