This week, we celebrate our incredible school bus drivers and assistants who dedicate their time, energy, and hearts to safely transporting our students every single day!

Being a school bus driver or assistant is so much more than just a job. It takes patience, compassion, dedication, and a genuine love for the children we serve. From the early mornings to the busy afternoons, through unpredictable weather, challenging days, and everything in between, our drivers and assistants continue to show up and make a difference.

Our drivers are the hands behind the wheel, and our assistants are the helping hands beside them. Together, you are a team that makes a difference in the lives of countless children. ❤️

Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest impact. A warm smile, a friendly good morning, a comforting word, or simply making a child feel safe and cared for can mean more than you will ever know.

🚌 Important Notice to Parents & Guardians

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the ongoing road resurfacing construction on Navajo and Bender in Hobbs, school bus pick-up and drop-off times may experience delays as crews work to improve road conditions.

Our drivers will do their best to remain on schedule while navigating construction zones, road closures, and possible traffic delays.

The safety of our students and employees will always remain our top priority.

🌫️ FOG DELAY NOTICE TO PARENTS 🌫️

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the foggy conditions this morning, some of our school buses may experience delays while completing their routes.

The safety of our students, drivers, and assistants is always our top priority. Our drivers have been instructed to use extra caution, reduce their speed when necessary, and pull over to a safe location if visibility becomes too limited to continue safely.

Because of these precautions, your child’s bus may arrive later than usual.

We greatly appreciate your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we work to transport all students safely during these weather conditions.

Debido a las condiciones de neblina esta mañana, algunos de nuestros autobuses escolares pueden experimentar retrasos mientras completan sus rutas.

La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, conductores y asistentes siempre es nuestra máxima prioridad. Se les ha indicado a nuestros conductores que manejen con mayor precaución, reduzcan la velocidad cuando sea necesario y se detengan en un lugar seguro si la visibilidad se vuelve demasiado limitada para continuar de manera segura.

Today, an incident occurred at Highland Middle School that we are asking you to keep the staff injured, the students and our community in your prayers and thoughts. We covet those efforts.

I want to assure our students, staff, families, and community that the safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we are taking every necessary precaution to provide a safe environment.

Out of an abundance of caution, and in coordination with our community partners, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s Homecoming Parade. In addition, tonight’s varsity football game has been rescheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Watson Memorial Stadium.

We recognize that these changes are disappointing, particularly on Homecoming, but safety must come first. We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our families and community as we navigate today’s circumstances together.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate any additional information as it becomes available.

We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred today at Highland Middle School involving a staff member. The suspect is currently in custody, and all students and staff are safe.

Parents and guardians are welcome to pick up their children from Highland Middle School and Coronado Elementary School at this time. Please be patient with our staff as we work through the process of safely releasing students.

At this time, we do not have any additional information to share. We will provide updates as appropriate when more information becomes available.
